Hey Bloggers !

I’m waiting for my Buddy Clint to pick me up from my parents house so we can take a small trip to Niagara for the day. I miss it. I’m not going back to school this year because for Culinary extra school isn’t a necessity. You really don’t actually have to go to school. But hey i’m 20, I was going to school lol !

Anyways, i noticed that it has been a while since i wrote to you so i thought i would get on that. I have a few photo’s i would like to show you from my cooking. I cook a lot more when i’m home because the supplies are better and well my folks have food. I think my room mates kinda enjoy it. As long as a clean up, since my room mates are my parents. Hahaha.

I made a pasta dish using Classico Spinach Sauce, and i added cream to it to make it last longer and have more of a soft taste.

 

When i make pasta i need to add some veggies or i don’t find it as good for me? The carb and sugar level is too high without something green and red. I almost never add onions though because i’m not a huge fan of them. Just my preference though, I wish i could eat them. I love onion rings though. Guilty pleasure. When i add veggies i add it into the noodle water so they get steamed and don’t loose the nutrition value. When you sauté they usually get covered in oil and seem less appealing. Don’t add them at the beginning. I usually add them with 10 minutes or less left so they don’t get all mushy.

 

Then i after i drain out all of the water i mix in spices with my noodles so they can enhance the flavour of the meal. From every aspect of your cooking there should be flavour. :)

Plate, add cheese to the top because cheese is awesome !

This weekend coming up is may 24, i’m so excited. I love may 24. I’m not sure why, I think its because it screams out beer and camping and i love both of those things. I wish i was going camping this weekend but instead i have decided to have a small get together since my folks will be out of town. I’m not planning on destroying their house or anything. I’m a smart party thrower. I don’t usually get mad if something breaks because it’s usually nothing important. I just don’t like it when people try to mess with me. My dark side comes out. Kidding.. I don’t think my dark side is that dark unless i get really really mad. I’ll have to show you some photo’s from this week when we take some.

Last friday was my best friend Erin Middleton’s Birthday ! She turned 21. I had a blast at her party. She threw it at her boyfriends house. He’s also the guy who got me the job at Camp 31. Here’s a photo of us girls goofing around !

Anyways, back to food. Very quickly though. I got bored the yesterday and made waffles, but i had to make them awesome so i died them blue and added raisins and chocolate chips. Also a cinnamon syrup that was more that unsuccessful.
hint: Adding food colouring usually makes your food taste like ass. #overrated.

I’m freezing

Hey folks,

  So i am aware that the title of this is weird… but it is also true.

My current status is still single, living with my parents and becoming a work-a-holic who can’t drive. Such a catch right? Ohh well not what I'm looking for anyways. I am currently looking for something to do. I get it i work a lot… aka i only get one day off a week. Yet i feel like nothing in my life is going right? Is that strange to think?
I need a new adventure and my old bedroom with a new paint job is not doing the trick. Should i take up a hobby? This is kind of a hobby right? fml.

Lets move on. I started my new job yesterday. The glamorous life of a bbq cook in butt fuck no where ! I am excited. I truly am. I really wanted to get cooking again. Schools done so i needed to start. I also restart my old job. I will be a cook and server at a golf course I've worked at for three summers now, I’m not full time there so it will work out well.

Last Friday i finished up my last exam then went to my good friend coles house. I got to see so many friends i missed ! like Michael De Haan, Kiva Brown, Tom Peletier, Cam Keddie and more who don’t have twitter. I also saw my friend Cody Wagner. We took a photo together… Don’t you love it? Also since i was so early the boy’s decided they wanted to ‘jam’. Soon after we played rock band.. I am a great singer !

It’s tough being away from my school friends, but great being with my home friends. I just wish everything went more smoothly in Niagara. It all kinda went ‘pooey’ after a little bit. But man, my last few weeks in Niagara were off the CHAIN ! You guys have no idea.. i went out, i partied, i went to the rippers, had my sisters bach.. her wedding ! ugh, So fun ! Even when we weren't doing anything we were still doing everything we could because it was almost over. I’ll miss them all more than they can imagine. :’( love you guys !! You were my second family… my home… my zen. Its so hard being away !

On another note… aka food ! mmm. I made a great lunch for myself today after work. I came home and i had half of my Chef Boyardee left so i added some cream, pepper and parmesan cheese to it. Yet that was my side. I also made a grilled cheese… BUT i made it with parm cheese and cheddar.. on raisin bread… SOOO GOOD ! Wanna see?

Lastly, I finally have a photo from the wedding that has me in it… Although i’m not looking too happy nor are the other girls lol. Ohh well we all love my sister and thought she looked great ! Here it is ..

A party to remember, i night i forgot

Hello Blogggggers,

  As you may already know if you’ve been reading my blog of course. My sister got married on Friday, it was a great night !! We had drinks, we ate great food and danced our night away. Everyone looked beautiful, especially my sister. I’m extremely proud of her.

  I’ll move on, Today I've been working hard at this cookbook but i don’t know how much longer i can do this today. I haven’t seen anyone since noon. Right now it’s 6:30pm. Exams … ugh.

  Since i am bored i have decided to make myself dinner. Although i was going to make butter chicken for my friend Chris and I. I decided to make spaghetti.. although Chris is still working on his homework. So i sit here starving.

  I’m also making peanut butter cookies. I can’t wait, I’m going to drop my Easter egg chocolates on the top like thumb print cookies but with chocolate. So excited to eat them… just waiting on Chris to bring me an egg.

A wedding of a life time

  Well i just finished my last lab of college. We did a black box day, our class received all produce necessary to create great dishes. Then our protein was a secret until we got into class. We knew that we got one fish and one red or white meat. Every student had to make a soup and a appetizer. This had to be finished very quickly. Then we needed a bread and spread, also a main course.

  Mine was seafood medley(shrimp, mussels, and squid) and pork tenderloin. What i ended up doing was Squid Bruschetta on Naan for my bread, spread and appetizer. I also made a hot pepper and garlic oil that didn’t turn out so good.. but it was there as a dip. For my soup, i made cabbage soup with Pork Tenderloin. It turned out well but i’ve had better. Finally my main was a egg sandwich on Naan Bread with ricotta cheese, then a vegetable mix in scrambled eggs, topped with spinach and ginger sauté… finally finished with a fried egg. My sides were garlic and broccoli mashed potatoes with goat cheese and sautéed red pepper with a caper sauce.

  A lot eh, well i had so much fun ! If your reading the NC, i’ll miss you !

  Continuing on, my sisters wedding is this Saturday and i am soo excited ! She’s going to look so pretty, i just know it. I have to figure out a speech, my shoes and my hair still. Would you like to see my  hair choices, their all not very different.

 

See my trend? I want to attempt a curl. As you may or may not know i recently cut off 11 inches of my hair for Cancer. Wee.

I miss you..

Hello Bloggers,

I know its been a while but ive been super busy, I’m not going to fill you in because it will just take too long.

So i’ll start with this…
On Thursday i was cooking in the Fallsview Casino kitchen. It was the greatest cooking experience of my life. I believe i will never be in a more beautiful kitchen every again.
The Chef was nice and funny. Not to mention handsome, although he has a family so hands off.
The next day i  was a server for the actually event. The event was going on for the school as a fundraiser. Its called “Niagara College’s 23rd annual seafood gala” which i find great to be apart of. Serving was not to hard, but it’s not my most favourite thing to do. How else would you know though, Right?

Last night was my last party in Niagara. I’m pretty upset about it, I’m moving back to my parents house and i really do not want to. Haha. Don’t tell them that though it’d hurt them too much. Anyways, i lot of people slept with people and people puked and drank too much.
I fell asleep with my socks on. Which i hate doing because i find it irritating.  Umm.. What else? The cops came twice and left twice without a ticket although the drama was high over that situation. Some people right? ;)

As of right now i’m just relaxing on the couch not doing much, nothing to really blog about. Talk to you soon i hope !

  I’m sure your wondering why my title is named that. Well i’ve been doing homework all day to finish a project worth 60% of my grade… want to hear that worst part…. wait for it….. it’s a GROUP project. So my grade is now in my hand and 7 others. So because of that here are the 10 things i’m finding hard::

 

1.Typing correctly…

I’ve spell checked like 8 words so far.

2. Listening to music…

My roomies are playing cod… Bahaha ! although the music is bothering me.

3. Eating with chop stix…

Ugh.. i just want to eat my spaghetti.

I just fell asleep.

Hey guys,
I'm going to be going to class very soon. Although i do not want to... Obviously. Hehe.

I just thought i would take a quick minute to type some words. How have you all been? I am concerned about you sometimes. I'm more concerned about people i know but you matter to me too.

Lately i don't even think i've been ok. I can't seem to pin point it either. I've been searching for a reason. I want to be ok. It looks like i'll be going home to be with my family once i am done with school. I'm a bit excited. To just have fun with some friends from home and not worry about anything other than work. Its not very grown up of me, but it is easier.

I know i'm not depressed or anything. Those feelings are very obvious but i think i just feel like i'm stuck. I'm not changing, my life is the same... even if i go to an old job it will be different right? Shit.

WHAT SHOULD I DO ??

I'm leaving this blog right now. My brain hurts, Bye guys.

Working away or chipping away

Hey Bloggers,

  As of right now i am working on my cookbook. It won’t be for sale but something kept in the family. For a long time i’ve been saying that i want to make a cookbook for my dear sister but haven’t. This is time. My sisters wedding gift, I must get this done ! For once and for all !! Wish me luck and i’ll keep you posted on that.

  I’ve also been in the search for a job. I haven’t been trying to hard but i do really want one. I would really like to work with BBQ’s. For those of you who do not know, i am from Paris, Ontario. Paris is big in the BBQ world. Paris is the home of Famous BBQ Chef Ted Reader. Since i do not know much about this form of cooking i would like to branch towards this art.

  I forgot to finish my blog, i am now outside. Thank goodness. It is so nice out i wish you all knew how i felt right now. Just starring into the sun :)

  Ahh man, i have no idea what to talk about. I am just looking at my keys.. How about this. I owe you a post… I`m going to go enjoy my day ! Cheers ya`ll !

A long night ahead

Hello Blog Readers,

I am so tired right now and i am most likely off to bed soon. I have been catching up on missed things in my online class. Which is a horrid idea i guess because i got straight here or twitter or facebook or anything else for that matter.

My class is on human sexuality. Intriguing yes, but it just doesn't capture my interests very much. All my friends think it is very funny. Grrreat. Its only because i am good at writing dirty thoughts down, want to see?

The man throws his jacket onto the chair as he arrives home from work, His wife waiting there in only an apron just hoping he would see her. He walks right past her, turns and smiles. She caught his eye. He walks slowly towards her with a slight jump in his step. This is it. She's done something right.. He grasps her waist and puts her on the kitchen counter. In his act of spontaneity he places her in the meal she had just prepared for him, another surprise he was not expecting.

I can go really dirty but come on guys.. this is a blog not a book. Next time.

Something about me::

1.I recently found out that my mothers best friend was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, this being the 4th person in my life to be diagnosed. Hence the short hair that used to be 11 inches longer...

2. I am in culinary school only to see the world, i spent my summer going from Vancouver, BC to St John, NFLD in 78 days.

3. I listen to old school rap, Christina and Britney, as well as Janis Joplin and the beatles.. all on one CD! woo.. weird eh?

4. I live in the worlds most gross student house with 3 other people i didn't know before the day we moved in.

5. I do not think i am shy unless i am with people who knew me when i was young or people who knew me when i was a different person.

6. I think i am funnier than i actually am.

7. This goes with number 6, it sucks that Chelsea Handler is a sex comedian because i feel i could make good money doing what she does, yet we have the same name so i never can.

8. I am severely addicted to soup. It is the worst thing ever !! I wish i wasn't. Kidding i'm happy i love soup. Its healthy.

9. I love Macbooks, but never want to own one.. its too much for me. I can't use anything Steve Jobs created because he's too smart for my fingers. I can barely use most microwaves.

10. When i look at guys, I instantly wonder how big their penis is and if they know how to use it.

11. Last but not least, I only want to get married to wear a pretty white dress. I also want to have 2 kids and adopt one of a different ethnic background.

I have plenty, i wish i didn't. Mine are the family channel, cream eggs(thats new), Chef boy R' De, and wearing red lipstick to the bar ! ahaha!

2. What is something important you are always forgetting/forgetting to do?
My family.. i know it sounds bad, but i always forget shit about them. Or i'll go home to see them and leave after 2 minutes to see my friends. I love them with all of my heart and i wish i put more time into them.

3. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Loud chewing.. If i can hear you. I will not eat.

4. Boxers/briefs or bikini panties vs thongs?
TONGS !! always.. come on. Put a little ass in it :P

5. What was your longest relationship?
Not very long, i am at 7 months. If that is even a relationship.

6. What's a talent that you've kept secret?

I play the spoons, Like celtic spoons. I can pick up instruments very quickly. Yet i also loose them just as quick.

7. What is your signature dance move?

Bhahaha, seriously becky?! Well... hmm... i would say anything really bad is my move. I usually tell boys i don't know how to dance. Yet when i am alone i tend to put one arm up and sway my hips.

Tim Horton's XL on my mind

Hello there blog readers,

I've been laying here trying to sleep and well as you can see its not going well. In Canada it is currently 2:28 am. As in i need to go to the doctors tomorrow really early so those Tim Horton's new cup sizes are really "fucking" with me right now.

I went to go see that new movie "gone" today, you know that horror movie about that girl with the big eyes trying to save her sister. Well I'm not going to ruin it for you but, its not the cop... although i defiantly thought it was. aha! He was cute though. The cop not the murder, well maybe.

Last night i got really drunk and almost threw up, funny thing is i drank half a 26er with me and my four friends. I was the only one drunk #collegegirlproblems. I'm nursing a break up! Hehe, its been 3 weeks or more now so I'm actually looking for excuses to drink on a Tuesday night.

He's got a new girl now, so i obviously took the adult route and deleted him from my life so badly that i have no possibly way to contact him. Yet to be fair i did get mad in front of him... just to my mother, father, sister and all of my friends. Their good people, he's now evil in all of their eyes. Gosh I'm glad I'm still 20 so i can get away with shit like this..

What else world... what else, i had my sister's wedding shower planned by me and her fiances sister. She didn't do shit. I got to listen to my sister get worried about people watching her, my mother hate on the mother-in-law, and everyone asking me questions about my date to the wedding.. which i don't have. So obviously it went splendidly.

Holy shit Blog Readers i sound so cynical. I'm really not, nor am i one of those girls who "tells it like it is" i think their stupid because no one cares what they think usually. Their also normally wrong. I'm just one of those girls who doesn't dream of rainbows and butterflies. Even though i am blonde. In case you were unaware.

A culinary Adventure

Hello All,
I bet you thought i forgot about you, but nooo way could i do such a thing again. Last week i just happened to be doing something with my life and felt like writing a blog on something other than a Monday would just be silly.

Right now i am in a intense search for a great recipe to cook in my class tomorrow. We are doing seared tuna, Scallop Ceviche, and more. Just to get a small idea on how this all works. Chef Michael Olson (name drop) gives us our food, and then we cook it. Whoa so complicated. Well, sometimes it is. Last week we had 27 recipes to do in 2 hrs with 5 people. Yup, We are awesome.

Well how was your valentines day? Thankfully i got broken up with just a week before aka the same night i told you i had a boyfriend. Oh well. We're still trying to be friends for now.
Anyways, i went out with three good friends of mine. My date just happened to be my gay friend Chris. We looked more than classy folks. We all drank wine, ate great food at the Niagara Falls Minestones. Then i went home and got more angry.

A forgetful hobby

Hello there non readers,

I understand i do, why would you come read if i do not write well here's my new years resolution... I hope.
Since i am behind by a month hopefully this one comes true... since my diet has already disagreed with me.

As you may know.. (or not since i'm considering this a clean sweep. New post, New blog?) i am attending culinary school. Well "wee" since this is my last semester and i plan on moving to the big city of Toronto, Ontario. I already tell creepy guys i live there anyways.
I'll be living with my two best friends, finger crossed more. We plan on living closer to the outside of the GTA than Toronto itself since one of my new roomies goes to school still.
To make this small talk seem like it was worth while... i am looking for a job. So if you own a restaurant, or know of one hiring happy people, i am open.
Remember.. i'm a cook. Not a prostitute.

Also bloggers/blog readers, i have a boyfriend now. I'm sure you don't give a rats ass who some blonde is dating but i thought i would share. He's kind enough for that ! aha.
His name is Logan and he is a paramedic full-time and a fire fighter part time. Look at me go :P
Kidding.


I thought i would add a photo i took recently. As i am a huge photography fan. Let me know what you think of it and i shall discuss your thoughts next week. I will also be adding a new photo everyone monday which i will talk about the following monday. I'm hoping this will keep me on track.
